Teens, Develop Your Go To Strategies For Life’s Challenges!!!

By on November 13, 2020 in Events

We all have moments of feeling anxious, stressed, angry or depressed. A teen that has healthy coping skills is going to be better able to react to what is happening around them and not become overly dysregulated.

Oh, We’ve Got Skills!!! Check out this free, 13-week, psycho-education Zoom group designed for high school aged students who identify as female to teach skills for dealing with life challenges.

This group will be led by Liz Rodgers, LICSW from Falmouth Human Services, who has over twenty years experience working with adolescents. In her many years providing therapy, she has found it to be3 very clear that one type of intervention does not work for everyone, nor will it work for every situation. A teen needs a “toolbox” to grab from to have the right skill for each circumstance and to be able to effectively communicate their needs to other people. These skills come from different intervention theories such as DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Mindfulness, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Sensory Motor, and Tapping, many of which will be discussed in the group.

The group will be closed to new members after the second session. Open to high school aged teen that identifies as female or non-binary. Must be a Falmouth resident.

Please call Liz Rodgers at Falmouth Human Services 508-548-0533 x11 with questions or to schedule a pre-screening interview for registration.
