Outreach and Education Workshop for Employers of Trades and Service Industries

The Falmouth Commission on Substance Use is reaching out to help employers of trades and service industries understand what role they can have in the substance use epidemic on Cape Cod. A free Outreach and Education Workshop for Employers of Trades and Service Industries (Construction; Food Service; Salon/Day Spa; Home Health Care; Cleaning Companies; Landscape; All Trades Welcomed) will be held on Wednesday, September 25th at the Falmouth Public Library, 300 Main Street, Herman Conference Room from 4-5:15pm.

Workshop to include:

  • Hear about the benefits of a recovery-friendly workplace from a local business owner and employee
  • A brief presentation on a recent study that found 65% of all overdose deaths in Barnstable County were of individuals in the Trades and Service Industries
  • Introduction to an Employer Toolkit that addresses substance misuse and the workplace
  • Cost calculator for employers to callculate what substance misuse is costing their business
  • Local resources for those impacted by substance use disorder
  • Overdose education, intervention training and Narcan distribution
