Independence House continues to provide assistance with remote services.

Independence House, Inc., continues to assist those in the community who seek help for domestic and sexual violence matters during the Covid-19 crisis. Remote services range in all areas including:

  • Accepting new clients
  • Individual and Group counseling by phone and secure video conferencing
  • Assistance with court applications in order to obtain emergency 209A Restraining Orders or 258E Harassment Orders
  • Legal assistance and representation by a staff attorney
  • Direct confidential chat with an Independence House counselor on both (and) websites
  • Homicide survivor counseling for anyone in the community impacted by the loss of a loved one, friend, neighbor or colleague due to a homicide.

Our confidential emergency domestic and sexual violence shelter remains in full operation as well our 24-hour hotline.
